Rules/Procedure

1 Upto G+2 / S+2 Buildings : For availing a new sewer connection use Ilanthorum Innaipu or AZhaithal Innaipu schemes

3 Cost of application Form Set : Free
4 Submission of Filled up Application for scrutiny : Filled-up Application along with the approved plan/proposed construction plan, sketch showing the proposed no. of closets, prescribed indemnity bond meant for temporary connection to be signed by the applicant with the attestation of Notary Public, filled-up challan to be furnished for scrutiny at the Registration Counter functioning at Head Office of CMWSS Board, No.1, Pumping Station Road, Chintadripet, Chennai-600 002.
5 Scrutiny of application at the Registration Counter : The official incharge in the Registration counter will recommend to the bank by endorsing the applicant's filled up challan to accept the caution deposit from the temporary connection applicant whose application is in order.
6 Caution Deposit : The Caution deposit of Rs.25000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand only) for water connection and Rs.25000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand only) for sewer connection to be paid.  This deposit will be refunded at the time of surrender or disconnection of the temporary connection subject to other conditions.
7 Remittance of Caution Deposit : Applicant has to remit the Caution Deposit, only at the Canara Bank located in CMWSS Board Head Office campus.
8 Registration of Application : Filled-up Application along with paid `c’ challan for the payment of caution deposit and necessary enclosures must be registered at the Registration Counter.
9 Acknowledgement : An acknowledgement slip recording the registration No., date etc. will be issued to the applicant at the time of registration of the application.
10 Connection Charges : The Connection charges will be informed to the applicant after obtaining necessary approval from the Competent Authority.
11 Effecting Connections : After receipt of Connection Charges, the registered application will be sent to the concerned Area Office and connection will be effected from the concerned Depot Office.

13 Time Period for Temporary Connection : i)The maximum time period for temporary connection will be one year or till the completion of construction activities whichever is earlier.
ii) The temporary connection will be disconnected by the Area Engineer immediately after the above period.
14 Water and Sewer charges : i) Water charges will be collected based on the volumetric basis at commercial rate of Rs.60/- per KL by fixing a meter subject to a minimum of Rs. 2000/- (Rupees Two Thousand Only) per month.
ii) Sewer charges will be collected at the rate of Rs.1000/- per Coloset per month.
15 Contact Officer for connections, disconnections etc., : Concerned Area Engineer.
